Article 48

Renunciation of office
 

   (1) Members of the State Government may renounce the exercise of their office before the end of the legislative period of the State Parliament.
   (2) Renunciation of office is to be declared in writing.
   (3) Renunciation of office by the State Governor takes effect when the written declaration is handed to the President of the State Parliament. For any other member of the State Government, renunciation takes effect when the declaration is handed to the State Governor.
